NoobFeed 101  Blog by RON,  Category: News

You should experience a faster NoobFeed from now on. If you don’t, post your complains here.
You might experience few glitches here and there for the framework update. If you do, post them along with your complain too.

Many of you have been complaining that your friends don’t visit NoobFeed because of its speed. If you notice the improvement of the speed, send a buzz to those friends. It’s time we all finish our NoobFeed 101 course.

Why is NoobFeed faster now?

Ans. – NoobFeed is lighter for any web browser now. It stores more data in your browser's cache memory than it used to. At the same time we have reduced the number of queries taking page before loading each page. If you don’t refresh (Ctrl+F5) your browser once you load a page of NoobFeed (e.g: Forum), each page will load very fast. Say around 98% faster. If you are in a habit of cleaning your browser often, then the speed will reduce to 60%. Which is still 60% faster than the previous speed. So, suit yourself according to your internet speed.

However, there is one disadvantage, as every system has its pros and cons. The browser will update its content after each 10 minutes. This doesn’t include your posts or comments; they are rather our site’s news, reviews, featured thread etc. Which usually doesn’t change in each 10 minutes anyway. But for the time being your comments and posts too will appear after few minutes. We are working on that and will be fixed within a day.

Optimization is done. Time to move on. Guess what’s next?

@stitch321 : Does the site still loading slow for you? I use a broadband connection of 32kbps at home, still it works fine for me. You may have less cache space to store data and the pages are loading from the scratch every single time. Increasing the space may solve the problem.

Thanks for the compliment. Nothing makes me happier than such nice words about the community. Thanks goes to all of you nice people joined and helping the site to grow up.

Your username sounds seriously familiar. I knew stitch from GS, one of the oldest pals during that time. If you are him then I welcome you with my hats down. Having you here is a privileged.

Sorry about the late reply.

Being rather new, I don't know what the speed use to be, but I can say the "new" speed is very nice.

Noobfeed loads slowly on my new broadband PC, but it's worth the wait, as you are friendly people with a family-friendly type of website!

RE: Your welcome of me: I've only used "stitch' at GS in the past. It's because one of my kids was a fan of the TV cartoon "Lilo and Stitch" and I was monitoring their web-activity at GS. It really doesn't have much to do with me, beyond me looking like a scruffy mutt alien!

Nice! And yes, I'm one of those maniacs who deletes the cache/browsing history/cookies/private data every time I close the browser Tongue out And it still loads quickly enough. Congratz for the team!

i'll check the forums tomorrow.

BTW, it's not a complain or an issue, but now some of the tabs get funny names/htmlcodes rather than the usual ones... yet the usual ones show up every now and then too O_o

Sweet, though I have FireFox clean absolutely everything when it closes. I prefer keeping it clean than filled with unwanted stuff if it happens. Thanks for the news :]

And what's next?

A choice of color for the theme? I'd like that, sometimes I turn my browser's colors negative since after a while it hurts my eyes to read long blogs.

Although it wasn't much of a problem now, loading the forum tab has very often been impossible for me.

And great that noobfeed is lighter for any webbrowser now. While the fan still runs hot when I browse this site, my old comp doesn't kneel because of it Laughing
