A few weeks back, the CEO of Cyan Worlds hinted that the studio would be launching a Kickstarter project. He wasn't lying. Today (10/17) the creators of Myst and Riven introduced a Kickstarter page for their new game, Obduction.
This year is the 20th anniversary of the release of Myst - the best-selling point-and-click adventure game that defined a generation. Obduction will adopt many of the features seen in Myst including engaging environments and monumental storylines.
Like its name suggests, Obduction concerns an abduction - your abduction. On a cloudless evening an unknown artifact falls from the sky and brings players beyond the galaxy to a nameless place and time. Things will begin to unravel the more the landscape is explored, answering the where, when and whys.
With a target goal of $1,100,000, Obduction is surely a project with extreme potential, capable of breaking Kickstarter records. Already it has raised over $50,000 and will assumingly continue to grow over the next month.
Currently the game is set to release on PC and Mac and its target release is mid to late 2015. To support Cyan Worlds and learn more about the project visit the Obduction Kickstarter page.
