For the first time since its launch, console rhythm game Rockband BandFuse: Rock Legends has released some downloadable content (DLC) for those who have mastered the tracklist. This DLC is available in a list of songs and backing tracks in the new Music Store in-game.
There are 13 pieces launched in total. Maybe that’s not a good number to start off with, but it contains 10 hit songs and 3 backings to create your own music to. Look at it like that. All tracks available for download are as follows:
Songs:
- Jimi Hendrix “Fire”
- Jimi Hendrix “Love or Confusion”
- Blues Traveler “Run-Around”
- Boston “Foreplay/Long Time”
- Filter “Hey Man, Nice Shot”
- Incubus “Pardon Me”
- Lynyrd Skynyrd “Simple Man”
- The Offspring “All I Want”
- Pantera “Cowboys From Hell”
- Yes “Roundabout"
Backing Tracks:
- Marcus Henderson “Funky Canon”
- Marcus Henderson “Jazzy Chill Groove”
- Marcus Henderson “Backing Beats Pack 1” (Three looping drum tracks)
Now for the bad news: Each piece of DLC is broken off separately, which is good news if you only want one or two songs, but less favorable if you want to collect all songs for $2.99 a piece or $1.99 for a backing. At the very least though, the selection is quite eclectic and it doesn’t even pander to masses with monster hits; like The Offspring’s song, which comes off the album after their Smash success. That’s classy.
A gameplay video also shows off the clips made for each track, as well as their multiple instrument support. In BandFuse, you can play with two guitars, a bass and vocals. Other songs on the set list feature artists like Zakk Wylde, Slash, Bootsy Collins and even Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom.
BandFuse: Rock Legends is available for both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
