Satoru Iwata Passes Away at 55

Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, has passed away on July 11, 2015. According to an official document from Nintendo his death came about due to a bile duct growth which he was previously treated for. It was because of health reasons tat Iwata skipped E3 2014

Satoru Iwata was the fourth president and CEO of Nintendo Co., succeeding Hiroshi Yamauchi as the company’s president in May 2002. Iwata lead Nintendo thorugh the Gamecube, Nintendo DS, Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eras.
