New Overwatch Short Starring Bastion to Premiere at Gamescom 2016

Blizzard confirmed, after being teased on their Russian social channel, that Bastion will star in the next Overwatch short.

Called The Last Bastion this will be the 5th Overwatch animated short and will premiere at Gamescom on Tuesday, August 18th at 9am PT. This is what Blizzard had to say about the transforming robot:

“The Last Bastion tells the origin story of the inquisitive transforming robot, Bastion. In this episode, we follow the forgotten battle automaton as it unexpectedly reactivates after laying dormant in the wilderness for over a decade. “Fascinated by its unfamiliar surroundings, the curious omnic begins to investigate, but quickly discovers its core combat programming may have a different directive…”

Bastion was one of the most hated heroes in Overwatch due to its insanely strong minigun transformation. However perhaps this new short will give many players a reason to love the robot. Bastion can't be all bad, that little bird seems to think so.

Overwatch is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
