Metroid: Samus Returns Fusion Mode is an Amiibo Exclusive

Nintendo confirmed that Metroid: Samus Returns' Fusion Mode will be an amiibo exclusive mode.

All the Metroid themed amiibos will be functionality in Metroid: Samus Returns. The biggest unlock being Fusion Mode, a new difficulty that swaps Samus' armor with her armor from Metroid Fusion that is unlocked by using the Metroid amiibo in the upcoming bundle pack. Nintendo confirmed to Eurogamer that this armor will be exclusive and will require a Metroid amiibo to unlock.

Metroid: Samus Returns releases on Nintendo 3DS on September 15th.
