Ataribox Crowdfunding Campaign Begins This Fall

We don't know much about Atari's return to hardware, but it definitely seems to be going forward. The most recent news involves a crowdfunding campaign set to start sometime this fall. Shipments are expected to start in Spring 2018. The reasoning behind choosing crowdfunding is the following:

 "Amazing brands are driven by amazing communities. Coming back to hardware is an important step for Atari, and something we intend to do carefully, hand-in-hand with the Atari community that loves our brand as much as we do. Crowdfunding is the ultimate community approach to bring great products to life; and for Atari, it allows us to reward our community with exclusive access, special editions, and include them as active participants in the rollout of the Ataribox."

The console's design looks pretty neat, especially the wooden edition. All that's left is to wait for more details about the console and the date when the crowdfunding campaign begins. Have a closer look at the Ataribox's design on their website.
