After the more hefty addition that was The Crimson Court, Darkest Dungeon has just received its second DLC. The Shieldbreaker is a new hero class with low health but solid damage dealing capabilities. She specializes in countering monsters with high protection or those who guard their allies. The Shieldbreaker makes use of new combat mechanics such as Armor Piercing, Guard Break and Stealth. The DLC also includes trinkets for the new hero class, three new enemy types and the Curio Tracker. Interacting with Curios will add icons to the items in players' inventory, making it easier to track which ones grant benefits and which don't. Darkest Dungeon: The Shieldbreaker is now available on Steam and GoG for $3.99 USD or your regional equivalent. The PS4, PS Vita and iOS versions will become available soon.
Stepping into the real world, the Darkest Dungeon Diorama, initially a backer reward, is now purchasable by anyone. Manufactured by Panda Game Manufacturing, it costs $25 USD and has over 40 figures and 4 vignettes which include the hero classes. Vvulf and his raiders are also part of this edition, being exclusive to it.
If the game's soundtrack is something you fancy listening to, you might want to know that a small limited pressing of the game's OST, composed by Stuart Chatwood, will be available on double vinyl. This includes music from both the base game and The Crimson Court. More specifically, we're talking about two 150 gram pressed vinyl (one red and one black) with a gatefold jacket and custom embossing. The OST is up for pre-order for $40 USD and expected to ship sometime in Q1 2018.
