Total War Saga: Thrones Of Britannia Announced

Back in July, Creative Assembly revealed their intention to focus on historical stand-alone spin-off titles under the Total War Saga name. These titles will revolve around "key, pivotal points in history which don’t necessarily revolve around a single character, and only lasted a few months or few decades at most." In their blog post, the studio also mentions that they've done similar things with Shogun 2's Fall Of The Samurai.

Today, the first title in the series was announced. Taking place in the year 878 on the British Isles, Total War Saga: Thrones Of Britannia will see "Anglo-Saxons, Gaelic clans and Viking settlers clash for control." While no gameplay was shown, you can have a look at the announcement trailer. Total War Saga: Thrones Of Britannia will release sometime in 2018 and is now available for wishlisting on Steam.

The expansion focuses on the crisis of the 3rd century and comes with a new grand campaign. Total War - ROME II: Empire Divided comes out on November 30th and is available for pre-order for the discounted price of 15,29€ or your regional equivalent.
