EA Lowers In-Game Rewards for Star Wars Battlefront 2
Star Wars Battlefront 2’s lower hero cost come with a sacrifice
News by Grayshadow on Nov 15, 2017
Recently EA has under heavy criticism from fans after it came to light that the absurd grind to unlock the iconic heroes from Star Wars Battlefront 2, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, would require up to 40 hours of grinding. Following the backlash, EA decided to lower the cost for heroes by 75% but there's a catch, rewards for in-game accomplishments have been reduced.
Prior to the change completing the campaign would yield 20,000 credits, now players earn 5,000 credits. This is a heavy reduction and returns to the primary issue that many fans have continued to vexingly speak about, the loot boxes and the unfair grind needed to unlock characters iconic to the Star Wars franchise.
Some have argued that this tradeoff is to ensure that future DLC packages will come at no extra charge. Even so, we must remember the state that the first game released with little content, an absurd lack of unlockables, and $50 season pass. While the second game seems to address many of the issues it seems that everything is locked behind a paywall that cost more than the first game's season pass.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 launches on November 17 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
