Assassin's Creed is one of the longest running franchises in video games but rarely do they allow players to control the primary enemies, the Templars. In Assassin's Creed 3, players got a taste of what it was like to be a Templar but it was in Assassin's Creed Rogue that a Templar was given a full adventure. Now it's getting remastered.
Assassin's Creed Rogue will feature 4K resolution, higher-resolution textures and shadows, improved environmental rendering, and new visual effects, making its sprawling wilderness, and Arctic icescapes.
The new edition also packs in all of the original's downloadable content and expansions, including two bonus missions – The Armor of Sir Gunn and The Siege of Fort de Sable – as well as the weapons, outfits, and customization items in the Master Templar and Explorer packs. It also includes a new bonus: Bayek's legacy outfit from Assassin's Creed Origins.
Assassin's Creed Rogue originally launched at the same time as Assassin's Creed Unity but unlike the Unity, the game didn't suffer from a myriad of performance issues. Many did criticize that the Rogue felt more like an expansion to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag since much of its gameplay was similar. However, the story was the highlight allowing gamers to see the Assassin-Templar War from the perspective of a Templar Agent.
Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered launches on March 20th for Xbox One and PS4.
