It's more than a simple graphics update

Bluepoint Games has been known for remasting older such as Gravity Rush, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and the God of War Trilogy. Now the studio is working hard on Shadow of the Colossus PS4. While it's easy to overlook the work that goes into these remastered games there's a lot of skill and work required to ensure not only that the port remains loyal to the original game but feels like a polished experience.
In a new video from Sony, we get to see some members of Bluepoint discuss how much effort goes into creating a remastered game, using Shadow of the Colossus PS4 as an example. Not only does the team have to study the game extensively but conduct large amounts of research regarding its development. This includes analyzing original design notes, art, and other material to ensure that new elements adding to the update feel true to the original developer's concepts.
The video provides a better understanding of how much work goes into a remastered game. It isn't simply updated textures and character models, but an extensive process of research and development. Everything has to be authentic to the game as if it was added by the original development team.
Shadow of the Colossus PS4 is set to release on the PS4 February 6th.
