Fortnite Battle Royale getting a new update

People Can Fly and Epic Games teased gamers that Fortnite Battle Royale would be getting new locations, refreshed biomes, and quality-of-life improvements some time. Now the developer and publisher are giving fans a preview of the update.
Called Map 2.0 will feature 5 new named locations in the western half of the map and a new town called Tilted Towers. An underground mine called Shifty Shafts will encourage close-quarters combat and 3 new areas named Junk Junction, Haunted Hills, and Snobby shores will also be added.
The development team has added more points of interests to explore which include several smaller settlements and buildings. The new biomes will add more diversity to the maps with farms, mountains, and swamps.
Fortnite level design, Sidney Rauchberger, spoke to PC Gamer:
“Before, we loaded everything at the same time, so all corners of the map were always there. With this new tech we can stream those in selectively based on where you are in the world, which basically means we gain a whole lot of free overhead."
“That allows us to have more visual variety in the POIs, more POIs in the first place. It will allow us to introduce new gameplay items, new cosmetics, etc. Basically, it just frees us up to be more focused on adding cool stuff to the game.”
This may not be a new map but considering everything that's being added fans will have enough reasons to return just explore all the different features.
Fortnite is available now in early access on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with its full launch occurring at some point in 2018.
