Back in March, Agony, a horror game from Madmind Studio and publisher PlayWay delayed the project from its original release with no date to take its place. However, the developer has been updating backers with information regarding the game's development. Confirming that some scenes will be optionally censored on the PC version.

The game features some graphic content and it's prudent for the developers to try and avoid an AO-rating. If it happens to obtain such a rating it won't be released on consoles and unlikely Valve will allow it on Steam.

In regards to the patch, PlayWay stated:

We also want to confirm that we are preparing a special, optional patch for PC that will remove the aforementioned “censorship”. We would love to do something similar for consoles but from a technical and legal point of view it is simply not possible.

With that in mind, we decided that backers who have bought the console version of Agony will be able to convert it into a PC version. Details on how to do this will be provided soon in the next update, here on Kickstarter.

Agony is now in development for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
