Borderlands 3 is officially happening. Gearbox Software officially announced the third entry in its looter shooter series eariler today at PAX East, in an event many Borderlands fans were looking forward to.
The announcement came at the end of a show that also unveiled a physical Borderlands card game, in a segment which saw Randy Pitchford perform a magic trick on stage, alongside remastered versions of previous Borderlands titles.
Not only will Borderlands 3 feature a brand new roster of Vault Hunters, but a large number of familiar characters from past entries will also help the new protagonists tackle the threat introduced by the third game.
Borderlands 3 seems to take players to a number of different worlds, while introducing a number of new vehicles. It's twisted-but-also-wacky style also returns, as does everyone's favorite talking companion, Claptrap. The trailer also mentions there being "over one billion guns", some of which have legs and skitter around while shooting stuff. We did not know we needed those.
More information on Borderlands 3 is said to come on April 4th.
