Gwent from an expansion card game within The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that CD Projekt RED adopted into Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. The game has been released on several platforms over the years but it seems CD Projekt RED is ceasing support on console versions.
In an update on the game’s official website, developer CD Projekt Red explained that this decision came as a result of the studio realizing that they couldn’t “support a growing number of different versions of Gwent while improving feature parity between them.”
PC and mobile versions of the game have been more popular and decided to cease support for console versions for more efficient development.
As of now, all real-world money purchases have been disable and on December 9th all matchmaking options and updates will stop.
CD Projekt RED is offering players on PS4 and Xbox One the chance to transfer all progress to either the PC or mobile version of the game. A GOG account is required to do so until June 9th, 2020. This includes all cards, decklists, currencies, account level, current rank, Thronebreaker rewards, and contracts.
