Sony has unveiled their PlayStation 3 motion controller during a press event at the Game Developers Conference.
The controller, named PlayStation Move, will be released later this year in several bundles, including a starter pack with a PlayStation Eye, the PlayStation Move and a game for under $100.
The controller itself is made up of two parts, with the required "wand" sporting the four face buttons, a PlayStation button and what appears to be a "Move button" similar to the PlayStation button. There will also be an optional sub-controller, featuring an analog stick, directional buttons and two face buttons. Each will connect wirelessly via bluetooth.
Supported by 36 companies including EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Warner Bros, Capcom, Square Enix and Tecmo Koei, the Move will have 20 games released for it by the end of the fiscal year, according to Jack Tretton, president of Sony Computer Entertainment America.
Some of the games shown off during the press event include Sports Champion (which includes the gladiator sub-game shown last year), Move Party, TV Superstars and The Shoot.
Other games not exclusive to Move will have the option for controls via Move, including SOCOM 4, LittleBigPlanet and EyePet.
