No Rest for the Wicked pushes its dark fantasy universe further with brutal tactical trials that demand absolute mechanical perfection. After finishing the first missions in the capital, the story turns to a secret religious crusade deep within the island. This crucial change introduces the main mission called Servant of God, the last major campaign milestone of the early story arc.

To begin this difficult task, you will be required to leave the Rookery sanctuary and walk directly into the busy town square market. At the main stone bridge you will be stopped by heavily armed members of the religious Inquisition. These grim emissaries tell you that Madrigal Seline needs your unique Cerim skills to investigate an ancient biological threat.
She is convinced that there is a cure for the terrible magical plague amongst the ancient ruins. Your destination is the heavily fortified northeast boundary of Sacra, an uncharted area that was once sealed off from normal citizens. Make sure to upgrade your arsenal at the town smithy before venturing into the untamed wilds.
Crossing the threshold of the Pass of the Nameless
The iron-reinforced gates at the edge of town, newly opened, give access to the rugged cliffsides of the Nameless Pass. This dangerous area is defined by steep sudden drops, dense fog banks and unpredictable routes of enemy patrols. Your first vital task once you cross the threshold is to find and activate the bright blue Whisper checkpoint.
This glowing terminal is your absolute lifeline, ensuring you don’t lose hours of exploration progress to a sudden ambush. A usable fire pit is located just south of this checkpoint, which is perfect for cooking very nutritious meals. Make a few quiet moments to brew some potent health potions and prepare some meat stews to boost your defense attributes.
Organize your logistics and then gaze down from the cliffside edge to find a broken wooden door along the water. Swim down to the deep currents and swim towards this obstacle and use heavy melee strikes to completely break the rotting boards. Your position will be immediately swarmed by a pair of aggressive feral creatures in this damp underground alcove, defending their nest.
The Ashen Road and the Creation of Vital Footholds
If you make it through the shoreline cave you can climb up the steep, winding dirt paths of the Ashen Road. This high-altitude pathway is guarded by elite variations of the Boarskin faction, and patrolled by massive warriors wielding heavy iron hammers. These hulking foes employ high-impact leaping slams that can easily drain your stamina bar if you attempt to blindly block.

Wait for the heavy hammer animations to finish, then spam counter-attacks to get safely through their thick defense. As you ascend the rocky slopes you will see a number of broken bridges and suspended wooden platforms. You need to unlock the localized ladder shortcuts dotted around the left-hand side of the mountain face, otherwise you'll run into catastrophic backtracking later on.
Use thick green vines to swing across deep mountain chasms to isolated, resource-rich ledges. You can also balance carefully on narrow tree branches to climb into high-altitude outposts with hidden treasure chests. Clearing these outposts will yield premium armor pieces and specialized crafting ores for diligent players.
Solving the Wooden Crane Puzzle of the Quarry
You take your vanguard directly into the sprawling industrial expanse of the Quarry outside the high-altitude outposts. This is a massive construction site and everywhere you look there are multi-layered complex wooden scaffolding and giant hand operated cranes. To advance further into the eastern mountain territory you will need to solve a complex mechanical crane puzzle.
Search for the first of the great wooden wheel mechanisms, located on the west edge of the main quarry platform. By interacting with this wheel, you can manually rotate a suspended wooden platform to bridge open structural gaps. You first need to spin the western crane to the five o’clock position to safely reach the southern cliffside.
Lower the new wooden ladder to find a secondary crane wheel hidden on the lower scaffolding. Rotate this second mechanism until the lower suspended platforms are at the eleven o'clock position. Lastly, return to the upper platform and rotate the first crane back to the ten o'clock angle to unlock the northern path.
Quarry Dungeon: An In-Depth Exploration
Once you’ve cracked the tricky crane puzzle, you’ll have free rein of the dark entrances to the Quarry Dungeon. This underground prison facility is very dark and use of a hand torch or illumation spell is highly recommended. As you descend the slippery stone steps, a pack of rabid infected wolves will ambush you from the shadows.
Wipe these fast creatures out quickly with sweeping attacks before they can get around your fragile backline characters. You pass through a small gap in the brickwork into a large central holding block full of iron cages. You will find another Whisper terminal here, which you must activate immediately to secure your checkpoint.
You will hear the distant echoing calls of a civilian prisoner locked up inside a high security elite cell block. The key to open this iron door is in a distant upper wooden catwalk above the chasm. You have to make a number of very precise (and dangerous) running jumps across broken support beams to get there.
Climb the Mountain Passage to the Cerim Ruins
Now that you have the cell key and saved the lost captive, go through the eastern dungeon exit. The trail enters a narrow, wind-swept pass in the mountains, the last approach to the ancient ruins. The atmosphere changes abruptly, and the environmental architecture changes from crude wooden scaffolding to massive weathered stone masonry.
This last corridor is fiercely guarded by massive mutated humanoids known to the local Inquisition forces as the Torn. These malformed behemoths can snap iron bars in half with ease, and will perform surprise charging attacks on your vanguard. You have to be disciplined on defense, and rely heavily on perfect dodge rolls to escape their tracking slams.
To match these physical threats, there will be specialized cultists throwing fireballs raining explosive projectiles from high stone pillars. Use your weapon’s unique long-range rune abilities to quickly burst down these annoying ranged targets from safety. Once the immediate courtyard is cleared of hostiles, approach the monumental double doors of the Cerim Chamber.
Killing Pestilence-Infused Riven Twins
Crossing through the entrance of the Cerim Chamber will start a cinematic that begins the epic boss fight with the Riven Twins. These dual abomination entities move with horrifying agility, employing synchronized acrobatic leaps to confound your targeting systems. This fierce confrontation is an absolute test of your spatial awareness and of your mechanical patience.
One of the twins is obsessed with releasing devastating waves of toxic poison onto the center of the stone floor. When the arena starts to fill with these glowing green clouds, you should immediately retreat to the clean outer boundaries. You will get a debilitating damage-over-time status effect that eats away your health bar from standing in the poisonous fog.

The second twin will perform high speed lunges from the dark upper columns while avoiding the toxic hazards. To survive this dual assault, it is highly recommended that you drink a couple of vials of focus-restoring potion before you begin your counter-offensive. Cheap, high-impact runic arts. Stagger one twin aggressively. Systematically split them apart, reduce their pressure.
Strengthening the Altars and the End of the Sacred Mission
Once the corrupted entities are defeated, their bodies will disintegrate into glowing particles of ash. Spend a few minutes carefully scouring the blood-stained arena floor for the rare components and equipment they drop. Then, head up the grand ceremonial staircase at the northern edge of the inner sanctum.
At the very top of the ruins, you’ll find a huge, ancient stone altar that thrums with mystical energy. Engage with this hallowed monument to kick off a massive story cinematic that exposes the true source of the curse that plagues the island. The celestial machine will come to life, and the spatial geometry of the surrounding realms will be forever changed.
You head back to the doorway of the central ceremonial chamber where the ancient machinery is now operating at full capacity. Madrigal Seline will be waiting patiently by the stone arches to hear your official report of the mission. Speaking to her will formally end the Servant of God questline, rewarding you with massive experience and unlocking the Act One endgame.
