To unlock new hunters in Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE, you'll primarily need to do it through the recruitment system that can be found on the bottom floor of the Hub area.

This feature allows you to play as many different Hunters from the anime series, giving you a bunch of options to build a strong team and experiment with different styles.

Hunter Recruitment

To start the process of unlocking characters, you'll need to head to the main hub and go to the lower section. There will be an NPC called Lim Hajin, and she happens to be the main recruitment NPC.

Interacting with her will open the Hunter Recruitment menu, which displays all of the available hunters that you can recruit.

You'll notice that not every hunter will appear right away. Some will depend on how far you've progressed in Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE.

After opening the recruitment menu and pressing "Connect” to view, there will be a list of a few hunters that you can acquire. Each of the hunters will display a difficulty level, which shows you the success rate of acquiring them and how many hunter coins they are likely to consume during negotiation.

Upon selecting your desired hunter, the negotiation menu will open. The more Hunter Coins you offer them, the higher the success rate of acquiring them.

Larger offers tend to have a higher recruitment percentage, but it's still not a guarantee whether you will fully acquire them or not, making it pretty risky and expensive, as Hunter Coins can be difficult to come by.

After the bidding process, your transactional process is entirely dependent on the odds and the amount of Hunter Coins you have put in. If the bid is unsuccessful, a portion of the Hunter Coin spent will be returned, but not the entirety of it.

You'll be able to retry negotiating, or depending on your luck, you might get your desired Hunter on the first go. Repeated attempts with different coin amounts can help you secure rare and powerful characters.

Story Progression

Apart from direct recruitment, you'll also have access to Hunters through the main story. Completing various sections of the story progression will allow you to gain access to new characters without needing to spend any Hunter Coins.
