Tomas & Joe: A Return

By Dramus, Posted 17 Apr 2013

Out of the ashes they are reborn.

Reborn, into something much greater.

Bigger, badder and *Joes throws a controller at Tomas* "Oh shut up and give them the updates will ya"

Pttff fine. Heya ladies and gents Tomas and Joe here writing the first blog since...well, since before the end of the world back in December (fun fun times ill tell ya that) and boy what a year its been. But lets start back in December. Uneventfull to say the least. Well, thats not entirely true. As with every year we (Joe and the buds) hang out, buy booze (plenty of vodka and rum and some appletinis this time around) We were planning our usual all nighter while going around town, but this time we decided to just settle down in a friends apartment, listen to awesome music and drink away. And for those of us who could play chess half drunk, then we did. (now THAT was fun...we get smarter when drinking lol) Anyways, besides that, this year has been work work work work work work work. oh yea, also work.

Now then, onto the great gaming front. Borderlands 2 (started playing last night), Dead Space 3, Rage, Alan Wake, Fable 2, Assassins Creed, LA: Noire, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Star Craft: Heart Of The Swarm, Omerta City Of Gansters, Darksiders 1 & 2, Waking Mars, Defense Grid, Sonic Gener *Joe throws another controller* "we get the point move it along"

Yea so obviously for a guy who has been working alot i have played alot of games. How? i seriously dont know because i dont feel like its been that many until i counted them now and i dont remember playing through all those (cept Heart Of The in love with Kerrigan) Also Saints Row The Third. Never thought i would have soooo much with one single game. oh and Bioshock Infinite. Unfortunately, it has tooooo many contenders this year for GOTY...but in my eyes it already won. Best Bioshock eveeerrr.

So thats it for stuff and stuff. Oh and i closed down my Facebook. Why? well social experiment thats why. Joe and I do love our social experiments. So with that lovely thought, Joe and I bid our farewells. See ya next Blog!

  • This year GOTY is going to be tight unlike past few years. I wonder what will happen when GTA V will show up.

  • I agree @Amaya is going to be a really close one. I wonder what'll come down too. Your thoughts?
    Posted Apr 21, 2013
  • @Knight @Amaya Personally, this year the winner has to be whoever is most innovative. People need to see something new. My guess, specially after all the hype, is that Watchdogs will win. But, its a long race and all the good games will be pouring out of the woodwork soon.

  • @Knight @Dramus We have Bioshock Infinite, Injustice, Assassins Creed and GTA V (had to count it already). What else on the plate?
    Posted Apr 22, 2013
  • @Amaya ooooooo Bayonetta 2, Beyond: Two Souls, The Last Of Us, Remember Me (maybe), if Dragon Age 3 decides to show its face it could do wonders...but yea, plenty to look forward to :) and i cant believe i forgot Injustice. i want the collectors...i must have it!

  • @Dramus I got lucky to play some Remember Me. It's not very impressive. More like a female futuristic version of Assassins Creed. And how did I not count Beyond: Two Souls. It's definitely one of the most anticipated games of this year. Probably more than GTA V.

  • @Amaya really? thats a shame. but lets see, you never know until the game is released :P oh and snap, i forgot about Deadpool!!! probably and more than likely not GOTY....but im soooo waiting on that :D

  • @Dramus Not saying it felt bad btw. It's good. But you know..
    Posted Apr 24, 2013
  • @Amaya yea i know. but we shall see what the year and time has to offer
    Posted Apr 24, 2013
  • @Amaya @Dramus DA3 is going to flop if they don't advance their combat and story more towards what mass effect did.
    Posted Apr 25, 2013
  • @Knight They won't be able to do it. DA is one of the worst RPG I've ever played.
    Posted Apr 26, 2013
  • @Amaya i rather enjoyed DA 1. however, yea it could have been soooo much better. story was very solid...but what really killed it was the battle system. it felt clunky.

  • I'll be one of the few who didn't enjoy Bioshock Infinite :p
I feel like the entire "intellectual" part of the first game is gone, replaced by a mindless FPS. Almost every enemies have projectiles, making your melee pretty much useless. I miss using harpoons, zap & whack em tactics which you could do for the entire game, playing intellectually with hacks and traps. All of this feels left out from Infinite.

Personally, my game of the year will likely be Metro Last Light. It's not out yet, but if it's anything like 2033, it will top every single game we'll have this year in my heart lol. I'd go and say Atelier Ayesha but we know that's impossible simply because people ignore smaller jRPGs, even if they have more content, better stories and are much more fun and innovative than Final Fantasy.
    Posted Apr 28, 2013
  • I'll agree with @Dramus on the story and lore. I love it so much. But @Amaya has a point. As an rpg, it's really rubbish.
    Posted Apr 30, 2013
  • @FetusZero i actually did a play through in Bio 1 where i only used the wrench and tonics lol. but i did use alot of melee on this one too. @Knight yea cant argue with that. the game play factor really killed it.

  • I didn't get to use it much :/ Not sure if it makes a big difference but I'm playing on Hard, so going up close pretty much equals death lol. Maybe one day I'll boot it up again and continue playing it, but for now it dropped at the end of my priority list (that is, if I had such a list).
