Recently Microsoft hosted the Xbox Series X gameplay reveal, promising gameplay footage for the upcoming games for the next-generation console. However, the reveal event lacked gameplay especially for Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed Valhalla which was heavily promoted to be where gameplay would debut.

Microsoft's Xbox Games Marketing, Aaron Greenburg, admitted that they had wrong expectations.

Had we not said anything & just shown May Inside Xbox show like we did last month, I suspect reactions might have been different. Clearly we set some wrong expectations & that’s on us. We appreciate all the feedback & can assure you we will take it all in & learn as a team

Ubisoft's Ashraf Ismail also addressed fan complaints about the reveal gameplay trailer for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Which was largely cinematics and the most anticipated trailer in the event's schedule.

Hello all

You rightfully expected to see more today. We have a long marketing campaign ahead of us, you will see in-depth gameplay and get a lot more info about the game.

Thank you for your excitement and passion! Be patient with us and be kind. It will be worth it

This won't be the last time we'll be hearing from Microsoft about the Xbox Series X. Hopefully, the company will take the criticism from this poor livestream and do better in the future.
