Retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, and Target are already gearing up for the traditional Black Friday sales across the United States and other western countries. Lasting through most of November, the deals are updated weekly with even more games and slashed prices. For example, starting November 22nd the hit Final Fantasy Remake will drop down from $50 USD to $30 USD or lower at these retailers. Other big titles getting the same treatment include The Last of Us Part 2, Marvel’s Avengers, Doom Eternal, Persona 5 Royal, and many more. Along with games, these stores are also pushing the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, although neither is discounted yet.

Since these businesses are brick and mortar shops, the inventory on sale is the physical disc copies. While this may be fine for most consumers, there will still be some put off by not having digital copies. Physical discs take time and cost more to ship (along with any sales tax); and if someone happens to live outside the delivery area it can be even more burdensome to order online. Those willing to settle for physical over digital will save a bit of money.
