The Division franchise has had its ups and downs but remains one of the best live service games available. With the sequel maintaining a steady player base. Now a new free-to-play game is in development called The Division: Heartland for 2021 or 2022.

The Division,NoobFeed,

Ubisoft posted an official timeline about future The Division content including building on the franchises world. Such as a film starring Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal, new content for The Division 2, a novel, and a Netflix series.

As previously announced, brand new content will be coming to The Division 2, with development led by Ubisoft Massive and support from Ubisoft Bucharest. While it’s still too early to discuss any specific details, this update will include an entirely new game mode for The Division franchise and new methods for levelling your agents with an emphasis on increasing build variety and viability. We look forward to revealing more later this year ahead of this content’s late 2021 release.

Ubisoft is clearly seeking to turn The Division into one of the company's mainline franchises similar to Far Cry and Assassin's Creed. We'll have to wait to see how this turns out but The Division is a popular IP so you can guarantee a lot of fans will be excited for this.

The Division 2 is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
