Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong launches this May 19th and today a new trailer dropped showing off the RPG elements within the title.
Players can invest in a variety of skills separated between the 3 protagonists. Disciplines serve as vampire powers to boost different advantages. Each one provides new ways to navigate the world while closing off other paths. The trailer highlights these various paths and how Willpower points offer these limited options.
Galeb, the elder of the 3 protagonists, can use Fortitude to withstand physical assaults and NPC Disciplines used against him. Emem, stylish queen of the night, uses Celerity to reach inaccessible areas. Leysha, hyper-sensitive and followed by her daughter Halsey, can conceal her presence with Obfuscate… and with enough experience points spent, can even hide physical objects from prying eyes.
NPCs will have their own character sheets detailing strengths and weaknesses. Managing Skills or Discipline will be necessary to get the most out of interactions to your benefit or not.
Players familiar with Big Bad Wolf's The Council will see a lot of themes that resemble that game's gameplay. Which is excellent but often underrated.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Epic Games Store on May 19th.
