NACON and Spiders have released the first gameplay trailer for Steelrising, a reimagining of the 1789 French Revolution. In Steelrising, players assume the role of Aegis, Eugene Vaucauson's master chief automaton, an engineer working for Louis XVI. The game will be published on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 8, 2022.

For the first time, the video shows more than five minutes of gameplay and many stages, emphasizing the battle. This clip unveils several foes and depicts the first bosses that Aegis will fight in Steelrising.

The player is at one of the levels of Vaucanson's factory, where the automatons that comprise the king's army are invented. When confronted with a variety of monsters, Aegis may choose from various weapons and things to attempt to fight each foe. The next level is unveiled during a carriage trip, along with the customization choices for Aegis' clothes.

Additionally, the player will learn about the grappling hook's capabilities throughout the vertical exploring of Parisian structures. The dash - a system of boosts that may be engaged at any time - also enables the player to travel in unconventional ways and unveil new elements of Paris in 1789.

1789 marks the storming of the Bastille and the beginning of the monarchy's demise. Steelrising imagines a different version of history, posing the question: What if King Louis XVI, a watchmaker by trade, had devised an army of automatons capable of putting down this insurrection? This army, which is both powerful and vicious, spares no one and brutally punishes dissidents. Paris is on fire: men, women, and children are being slaughtered systematically.

Once an automaton devoted to dance for the Court's delight, Aegis has evolved into a warrior, serving as Marie Antoinette's bodyguard. Appointed by the Queen, Aegis will have to negotiate a machine-infested Paris. Each encounter with these artificial adversaries tests the player's abilities. This is the price that people seeking to alter the course of history must pay.
