God of War: Ragnarök is one of the most hotly anticipated games of 2022 and Santa Monica Studio has finally announced a release date. On November 9th, 2022 fans can jump back into the shoes of the angriest dad in gaming and continue Kratos and his son Atreus' journey across the Nine Realms. Set a few years after 2018's incredible God of War, God of War: Ragnarök will see Kratos (Christopher Judge) and Atreus (Sonny Suljic) fight to survive the cold winds of Fimbulwinter and Ragnarök, Norse mythology's unstoppable apocalypse.
Returning characters include storyteller/ decapitated-head-on-Kratos' belt Mimir (Alastair Duncan), dwarven blacksmiths Sindir (Adam John Harrington), and Brok (Robert Craighead), and enraged Goddess of Love Freya (Danielle Bisutti), who seeks vengeance on Kratos after the events of God of War 2018. With new realms to explore there also come new characters to meet and fight including the mysterious giant Angrboda (Laya Hayes), the towering Norse God of War Týr (Ben Prendergast), and Thor, the God of Thunder (Ryan Hurst). God of War: Ragnarök's Thor is a big, brutal butcherer of giants whose appearance is much more in line with his Pagan origins than say, the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the game's main antagonists and a mighty foe for Kratos to face, Thor is going to give the Ghost of Sparta the fight of his life. Finally, Going from the new CG trailer Father and Son, the monstrous giant wolf Fenrir will be making an impactful appearance.
Pre-orders for God of War: Ragnarök begins July 15th, 2022, and God of War: Ragnarök releases November 9th, 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
