Assassin’s Creed Valhalla released in November 2020, so it has been two years since the game initially released, and Ubisoft has now decided to end the post-launch content with a few final additions. These additions provide a few extra things for fans of the game, but the final update does also come with a bit of a disappointment.

Ubisoft announced this end to post-launch content on its blog, and while the initial part of the blog post goes over what all has been released thus far, the new stuff starts about halfway through. The final update, titled 1.6.2, will bring a conclusion that is described as “touching and intimate” by the blog post. This conclusion will rap up the storylines that have been developed throughout the game and the post-launch content.

The new update releases on 6 December 2022, and to access The Last Chapter, you must:

  • Complete the main storyline by pledging to all territories of England
  • Complete the mythical story arcs of Asgard and Jotunheim
  • Upgrade your settlement to level 5 and construct the Jomsviking barracks
  • Kill all targets of the Order of the Ancients and unveil its leader

However, when it comes to the disappointment previously mentioned. The final update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will not include a much-requested feature: New Game+. The reasoning for this is quite shaky, but they do apologize for not implementing this somewhat standard feature. Although, to tide you over, they have added the ability to keep your hood up at any time. Which doesn’t seem as good as New Game+, but there isn’t much to be done on that front anymore.

That ends the post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This update is no doubt in preparation for the projected 2023 release date of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. So, look out for that one next year.
