Square Enix, the maker of Final Fantasy, the series of games everybody knows and loves, and the currently active Final Fantasy XIV Online game will give players a chance to claim the second major expansion after Heavansward, Stormblood. However, you’ll have to claim this freebie before 8 May 2023.
In a promotional tweet posted by the Final Fantasy XIV developers today, players will be able to claim the Stormblood Expansion as long as they have the Final Fantasy XIV Starter Edition. The Starter Edition contains A Realm Reborn and Heavensward. However, an active subscription is required to claim the expansion. Square Enix is also running a Free Login Campaign for players who went on hiatus from Final Fantasy XIV and want to return for a limited time.
Stormblood was Initially released in 2017 as the second major expansion to Final Fantasy XIV and saw major popularity among the fanbase. That same fan base has only grown over the years. With access to the Stormblood expansion, players can explore the Far East Region and take a shot at the two jobs that come with it, Samurai and Red Mage. The Samurai job is a melee DPS that focuses on stringing combo attacks together to devastate your foes. The Red Mage is an interesting Melee and Magical Ranged DPS, using mana generated from magical attacks to chain powerful combos together with their signature rapier.
If you’re new to Final Fantasy XIV or a returning player, Eorzea always has a lot to offer, and there’s never a dull moment when you’re out exploring. The main questline will take a good chunk of time to finish with its rich story, but the customization options on offer are known to keep players of any caliber busy for just as long with the glamour options for gear.
This event is likely in preparation for the release of Final Fantasy XVI, Square Enix’s latest creation that fans have been itching to get to. Final Fantasy XVI will be released on June 22, 2023 on PS5, but in the meantime, players can get the most out of Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood while it’s free to claim
