Street Fighter 6 had a huge release yesterday on every platform that currently exists on the market. Meanwhile the console players are happy to have another fighter game in their library, there are some odd shenanigans going on in the PC platform. As we all know, PC players tend to be the least interested in fighting games. However, Street Fighter 6 broke a record on its own by having large amounts of players being active for a fighting game.

Placing 13th on Steam’s concurrent players list, Street Fighter 6 already secured a place in one of the top-selling games on Steam. Since yesterday, SF6’s highest player count is 66,317 and it is expected to get higher in this rate. Compared to Multiversus, which had around 150.000 players on release, it falls quite short, however Multiversus had the advantage of being a free-to-play game, rather than a paid one. So, everything sounds good for Street Fighter 6 so far, though they have to watch out for the incoming horde of Mortal Kombat 1 players.

Just like Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1 has a huge hype surrounding it. Especially with Ed Boon and NetherRealm teasing the player base with a bunch of mysterious trailers, and little snippets of information, Mortal Kombat 1 is going to bring back the old gore-fest in ultra-deluxe-high-definition. Few weeks ago Ed Boon shared vital information about rebooting the series and bringing back extreme gore-y style to the current gen of consoles. With a great positive response,sSeems like once Mortal Kombat 1 gets released in fall this year, it will compete head-to-head with Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8. But right now, PC players are having a joy, discovering what Street Fighter 6 has to offer.

Street Fighter 6 got released yesterday to the public in all current gen consoles and PC, Mortal Kombat 1 has a release date of 19th of September, 2023, and Tekken 8’s release date is still to be announced by Namco.
