Next Update for GTA:Online Will Be Themed Around Mercenaries

Rockstar is keeping their silence about GTA 6, this doesn’t mean they won’t update GTA:Online though.

Ever since the “accidental” leak of Grand Theft Auto 6, Rockstar has been trying to keep everything very strict and safe from the public's eye. Though they are mostly focused on the next big GTA game, this does not mean they have forgotten about their current GTA game on the market. Last December we received The Drug Wars DLC, where we dived deep into the underground drug business of Los Santos. Despite being deemed as a small update, it brought brand new cars, estates, garages and few side missions to keep players busy.

It’s now almost six months later and now Rockstar is ready to push their next update for the summer. The usual Rockstar way of releasing new updates happens twice in a year, one for the summer and one for the holiday season. For this summer they went with a more serious and raw approach to the theme of mercenaries. As we all know, mercenaries are a crucial part of the GTA gameplay, it is inevitable to come across with a group of mercenaries during both the single and multiplayer side of GTA V.

Although it is considered as a new update, there will be a lack of new content such as no cars and leases to buy. Grand Theft Auto Online: Mercenaries Update will focus on more quality of life updates, such as allowing more cars to be used in taxi missions, new sprint mode, more detailed reclaim requests from Mors Insurance, new type of SMG’s to be used in drive-by’s and more. Alongside with new changes, players can queue up for missions that will be added to the Mercenary missions list. Stealing server data, espionage on freight trains and more will be included in the new roster of missions available.

Grand Theft Auto Online: Mercenaries update will be released as a free add-on on 13th of this month for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox X|S.
