Call of Duty: Warzone has been receiving a wave of new updates, the latest update one adding more restrictions onto the game's ranked gameplay mode, such as removing weapons from players’ weapon pool. While players are understandably upset by these changes, the update also makes many much-needed fixes to many issues that surfaced after the launch of Season 4 of the game.

When Call of Duty: Warzone first released back in 2022, many fans of the battle royale genre have flocked to the game and have been enjoying the steady stream of updates provided by Treyarch Studios. The latest season of the game added a whole variety of features to the game, most notably, a brand-new map which players have gladly been exploring, with many of them sharing funny moments and unlocking the game's battle pass.

As for the battle pass itself, it contains many new weapon blueprints, operator skins, and more. However, despite all the new weapons added to the game, the game's ranked mode did receive many new restrictions and it would seem that with the most recent update, the game has added even more restrictions. These restrictions were brought during the Call of Duty: Warzone's June 21 update. According to patch notes, Call of Duty: Warzone's Ranked players cannot use the KV Broadside shotgun, explosive rounds in sniper rifles, and Dragon's Breath ammo in shotguns.

These changes will incentivize players to vary up their play style as these changes were made due to players being able to kill their opponents easily with one shot from their shotgun with explosive ammunition. Meaning that very skilled players could take out opponents from quite a distance. Many Call of Duty: Warzone players were able to make snipers capable of killing players in one shot. Hopefully with the changes that have been made to the game's Ranked mode, players will now have a much more fair gameplay experience.

When Ranked mode was first implemented for Call of Duty: Warzone, many players enjoyed the competitive experience, as the Ranked mode gave players a chance to exclusive rewards, climb through rank divisions, and show off their skills to other players during a match. However, do keep in mind that Warzone Ranked Play competitive settings are a multi-team effort and are meant to deliver both competitive and fair matches. Restrictions are updated based on data and feedback, and restricted items may return in an upcoming Season after undergoing further balance changes.
