Sadly, it would appear that we won't be seeing E3 for another two years as it would appear that The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has already canceled the gaming presentation event for both 2024 and 2025. We learned about this thanks to some recently leaked public records. It would seem that this development further proves the belief that we will likely no longer get to see the gaming event.

However, many long-time gamers did see such a development happening as the Electronic Entertainment Expo, more commonly known as E3, has steadily been losing a lot of the spark that made so many fans of the event excited to see it. The yearly expo, which was meant to be a time for developers and publishers of the gaming industry to show off their upcoming titles. Due to the event losing a lot of its glamor, many developers started hosting their own smaller presentations. This did turn out to be a good idea, as developers no longer had to worry about sharing the spotlight with their rivals.

Developers hosting their own shows was definitely a major blow to the expo, this definitely didn't get any better for it when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. The pandemic has been cited as the main cause for the cancellations of E3 2020 and 2022. While a physical Expo was out of the question because of the pandemic, this did prompt the organizers to try an online-only format for E3 2021. Many were happy to have the Expo going again, but sadly, the presentation was met with a rather lukewarm response from both consumers and exhibitors alike.

E3 was once again in troubled waters, when organizers tried once again to get the event off the ground for 2023, but they would end up canceling the event in March, mainly due to lack of interest by most publishers. Despite the cancellation, the organizers have assured gamers that they would not be giving up on the event. However, it would appear that they have already canceled the event for the next two years.

We learned of this thanks to a leaked convention sales brief that was released on 21 June 2023. This brief came from a meeting of the Los Angeles City Tourism Board of Commissioner and explicitly states that E3 2024 and 2025 have been canceled. This brief was spotted by Rosti, a user of ResetEra. While this doesn't outright state that we won't be getting any further E3 events, it does leave many with little hope for the event.
