Stray, one of the best indie games of the last year, has been still talked about today. A futurist, dystopian game about the vanishing of the human race and cats being still around is an intriguing topic to pick. To BlueTwelve’s credit, it was well done with highly positive reviews. It was also nominated for the best indie game and won The Game Awards in 2022 too. While the game saw a high rise on both Playstation and PC, the Xbox port was nowhere to be found.
Great news to Xbox players is that Stray is finally coming to the Xbox platform after a year of absence. The legitimacy of the port was revealed when ESRB rated Stray on Xbox as well, but we did not know when it was going to land on the platform whatsoever. BlueTwelve actually made a custom trailer for arrival on Xbox and it was published on the publisher’s own Youtube channel as well. The video is a nice homage to cats being their usual selves and the addition of an Xbox controller on the coffee table.
Stray actually has a massive follow-up to its name. We are certainly sure that the title landing on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S will boost its spread too. While the Xbox port is ready to be shipped soon, people started to wonder if there is ever going to be a Nintendo Switch port of Stray. While we are not sure about it, Annapurna might start working on it after the release of Stray on Xbox consoles.
As an indie title, Stray was hugely successful, such as having 62 thousand concurrent players at the time of release and having the highest positive ratio in any game on Steam. High numbers of players do not stop there either, it is estimated that 4.5 million of PlayStation players logged into Stray to get on an adventure.
Stray is currently available on PS4, PS5, and PC. It is free for PS Plus members until the 18th of July. For the Xbox players, Stray will be released on the 10th of August this year for both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
