Assassin's Creed Mirage Coming to More Platforms Than We Think

With the release of Ubisoft's latest upcoming title, it would seem that Assassin's Creed Mirage will be released on another platform in 2024.

It's not often we get announcements about what platforms a game is releasing on so late into its development, especially if said game is being released in less than a month. During this year's Apple September event, a huge event where the tech giant, known as Apple showed off their product lineup, including their phones which will be shipping with a copy of Assassin's Creed Mirage next year.

Assassin's Creed has become a staple release for Ubisoft, the iconic series that puts us in the white hood or black pelt of an assassin from years past. Due to the success of the franchise, Ubisoft has been attempting to expand the franchise as far as possible, from virtual reality to even a cinematic release, so it was only inevitable that the series would make it onto mobile. Now, much like Ubisoft, Apple is also famed for its staple releases, so it only seems natural that the two companies would come together, and possibly make Assassin's Creed a standard release for iPhones.

The announcement that was made during the event revealed that a native version of Assassin's Creed Mirage would be shipped with Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 Pro. While we currently don't know when the game will release on the phone, it is safe to say that it will release alongside the new iPhone. Apple calls their upcoming phone, the "next generation of mobile gaming", with support for both PC and console games, which were previously unavailable for mobile devices. This seems to tease that the phone will have noticeable performance upgrades and ray tracing capabilities, which is impressive considering it is a relatively quite a compound device.

Now, the announcement of Assassin's Creed Mirage releasing on an iPhone might sound impressive, but the game isn't the only title releasing on the platform. Alongside the game, there will also be The Division Resurgence, Resident Evil 4 remake, Resident Evil Village, and Death Stranding, all of which will be releasing later in 2024. The announcement of modern gaming being capable on an iPhone does sound pretty insane but it is to be expected considering newer silicon chips like the M1 and the M2 being present in the Apple ecosystem.
