The co-founder of PlatinumGames and lead creator of games such as Bayonetta and Wonderful 101, Hideki Kamiya, is planning to leave the studio next month. PlatinumGames’ official Twitter account posted the announcement today and stated that he will be leaving the crew in October. There is no concrete evidence on why Hideki Kamiya decided to leave the studio after sixteen years of hard work, but he is determined about his actions.

PlatinumGames’ Twitter account has stated, “We regret to announce that Hideki Kamiya will be leaving PlatinumGames on October 12, 2023.” They further explained that they were grateful for his leadership and contribution to the studio and said he would continue to be successful in his career after leaving PlatinumGames. Although they are pretty much prominent about his future, we are not sure where Hideki Kamiya is headed as he has not given out a proper route for his upcoming plans.

Hideki Kamiya further mentioned his departure in his Twitter account, though we are not sure if anyone has read any of his tweets. Bit of a trivia, Hideki Kamiya tends to block people off from Twitter at a very casual pace, even if they slightly criticize any of his works or anything under the PlatinumGames’ roof. Therefore we do not expect anyone, especially the ones who wanted to exchange words with him, to know about what are his plans now. To shortly mention, he mentions that the decision he made was not easy and promises to create more projects and games for his fans and followers in his recent Twitter post.

There is only one thing, a question, that is left to resolve and it is his credits on a current on-the-works project by PlatinumGames. Called Project G.G., Hideki Kamiya mostly helped shape the game and rule out the basic structure of it. His departure is going to leave some marks but the studio claims to keep working on the title nonetheless.
