MechRunner has pretty shots from some notable concept artists.

Developer Spark Plug Games has released a video to show off the concept art of MechRunner, their current project headed to Playstation 4, PS Vita and PC. In it, shots are shown of highly detailed robots and action scenes with some smooth lighting.

Some may recognize the style from somewhere and not quite be able to bring that feeling home. Well, MechRunner employs the skills of Josh Nizzi, who has worked on designs for the likes of Iron Man 3, The Avengers and the Transformers movies. That should help identify the decked out metal parts and shiny, reflective surfaces.

MechRunner is an endless runner genre game, but with a lot more involved action than its peers. Paths are filled with enemies waiting to get blasted with a series of weapons. Some can even get totally sliced up. It’s currently in production with the use of the versatile Unity Engine. It should arrive somewhere this summer.

We’re even more excited that the company houses people that have worked on games like Puzzle Quest 2 or Even Civilization 2. Neither bears any consequence to this action-heavy title, but at least it shows that they have an idea how to pull off complex designs.
