Did you know there’s a new game documentary out? We didn’t either, but Us and the Game Industry released on Steam this week, offering takes from the likes of Journey’s developer and Antichamber.

Us and the Gaming Industry,Documentary

Aside from developer thatgamecompany and people like Jenova Chen or Robin Huinicke, the documentary also focuses on Jason Rohrer, Alexander Bruce, Die Gute Fabrik and Zack Gage. This is particularly interesting for people who want to know more about the creation of Journey. This cooperative adventure based on simple, evocative gameplay went on to receive sizable critical acclaim. It’s one of the highest rated titles on Playstation 3, raking in an impressive Metacritic score of 92.

Us and the Game Industry is much like indie Game: The Movie, which has seemed to spark a wave of documentaries in the gaming industry. These usually come paired with some minimal soundtracks for added emotional impact.

Another title currently undertaking a similar project is Super Game Jam. We already dove into the first episode of this documentary, which also comes with a game. You can read that in our review. Recently, Super Game Jam added two episodes to its seasonal approach on development footage.

Us and the Game Industry is available on Steam for €9.99.
