After leaking earlier than expected, Ubisoft officially announced Assassin's Creed Rogue yesterday. Starring Shay Patrick, the Assassin turned Templar, Assassin's Creed Rogue will be set in the 18th century during the Seven Years War as Patrick systemically tracks and eliminates members of the Assassin Order. Rogue will complete the North American saga that began with Assassin's Creed III and continued in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Shay will travel through the arctic North Atlantic Ocean, the Appalachian River Valley, and bustling New York City on his mission to kill his former brothers and sisters.
Ubisoft has confirmed that Shay will have access to new weapons never before seen in an Assassin's Creed game and a new shop called The Morrigan to aid him in his quest to destroy the Assassins.
Shay's air rifle, shown in the trailer, can be equipped with a variety of ammunition including specialized bullets and grenades, with the gun capable of handling both short and long-range combat. The Morrigan will also offer a new set of tools including apuckle gun (a machine gun weapon) and burning oil that leaves a trail of fire behind your ship.
Assassin's Creed Rogue will not feature a multiplayer mode, instead it'll be a single-player only experience. Competitive multiplayer will also be excluded from Assassin's Creed Unity, launching in October, to focus on 4-player cooperative gameplay instead. Assassin's Creed Rogue will release on Xbox 360 and PS3 on November 11 globally and November 12 for France.
