Fans have been clamoring for a remake for Final Fantasy 7 ever since the tech demo showcasing the PS3’s power was shown, however this remake won’t be identical to the original game.
In an interview director Tetsuya Nomura explained that the new version could potentially deviate from the 1997 PlayStation classic.
Judging from the trailer it seems illogical to follow the same architecture. What we’re hoping for is an active combat system, hoping it won’t be long before we have a glimpse of actual gameplay.
