Rumors about the next God of War game have surfaced and it looks like Kratos may be traveling to Valhalla.
A series of images have been uploaded showcasing Kratos with a beard and in a Norse mythology setting. Sony did confirm back in December 2014 that a new God of War game was in development for the PS4 but no information regarding this mysterious project has been given.
The images come from a portfolio of Finial Macmanus, a concept artist who worked at SIE Santa Monica from September 2015 until December 2015. NerdLeaks came across the images and put them up for everyone to see.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Kratos in a different setting. At the end of God of War 3 Kratos attempts to commit suicide using the Blade of Olympus and frees the power within it so the world can heal. In the post-credits scene a trail of blood can be seen leading away from the abandoned blade, leaving Kratos’ fate unknown. Perhaps the Norse Gods saved Kratos for his talents and now require his help, which they may regret in the future.
