Final Fantasy XV Port Could Take An Entire Year to Port

Are you willing to wait longer for Final Fantasy XV?

Like The Last Guardian it feels like forever that Final Fantasy XV was first announced as Final Fantasy Versus XIII. After one more delay the game is now releasing for Xbox One and PS4 November 29th, but not on PC. Game director Hajime Tabata explained to Spanish site Vida Extra that if his team does intend to release on PC it wouldn't be a simple carbon copy but an entirely different project to ensure higher fidelity.

“On that hypothesis, not talking about something real, just an idea, if we worked on a PC version what I have very clear is that we would work to provide a better version of what we have now on consoles,” Tabata told Spanish site Vida Extra. “We could say that something like this would take us more than a year. We should work to adapt the engine, which is very laborious, and from there to develop its course.”

Final Fantasy XV will support HDR on PS4 Pro and Xbox One S. Based on my time with the demo at NYCC 2016 I would highly recommend players pick up the PS4 version of the game. The difference in graphics and frame-rate was shocking.

Final Fantasy XV launches on November 29th for Xbox One and PS4.
