Migos' Quavo Rocks Jewel-Encrusted Aku Aku Head From Crash Bandicoot

This is a bad and boujeee Crash Bandicoot piece, alright.

Everyone is pretty pumped about the Super Nintendo Classic Mini being announced, but here’s something much more extravagant than that: A diamond and jewel-encrusted Aku Aku head from Crash Bandicoot, courtesy of Quavo from Migos. For those who aren’t with the times, like many of us old people, Migos is a currently popular hip hop group, known primarily for their hit “Bad and boujee.” “Boujee” is referring to “bourgeois,” an affluent person of means, materialistic and such. And, boy, is this gigantic ornate piece about a video game ever fitting to the term, as spotted in Quavo’s recent Instagram post:

While it’s unlikely directly related, the piece is weirdly timely in fashion, to coincide with the release of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, the remaster compilation of the first three games in the series. This Playstation 4 exclusive lands this week, June 30, 2017. Activision has a lot of money to splurge on crazy promotional stunts, but this seems even too farfetched for that.

Meanwhile, Quavo is making rounds in the news, not for their love of games, but for some run-ins during the BET awards last week, both with Joe Budden and later on with Chris Brown. The latter has a restraining order against the person who Quavo is dating now. Let’s not comment on that.

That chain looks pretty cool though, right? Crash Bandicoot hasn’t seen a release in almost ten years, after publisher Activision took over the rights and turned the once lovable mascot into some sort of abomination. Seriously, look at the box art for Crash: Mind over Mutant, it looks like not even Crash wanted to be there; their face twisted in this look of everlasting torment. Hopefully, this remaster is everything fans have been waiting for, because not all gameplay from the Playstation 1 days has translated that well to the present.
