Newly Unveiled Game Soundfall Combines Dungeon Crawling with Rhythmic Gameplay

Today, developer Drastic Games, formed from Epic Games veterans, revealed a brand new music-based game called Soundfall

An official press release by Drastic, Soundfall will contain a “lively mix of twin-stick shooting and rhythm-based gameplay.” 

Players take control of Melody, a young audiophile who finds herself in the world of Symphonia. A world where music comes to life and wrapped into a conflict against a dark force called Discord, and no it's not the popular chat platform.

Loot, enemies, and more elements of the game will react directly with the music in the game. Players can choose to play alone or with 3 other friends in online and local cooperative play.

Harnessing the power of Epic’s Unreal Engine 4, Soundfall pushes what’s possible for small team development. “Soundfall is an extraordinary project to be part of,” said Julian Trutmann, content director, Drastic Games. “Music connects people in ways that are difficult to articulate. Soundfall looks beautiful, mixing together science-fiction and fantasy with a lush array of color and matches the excellent music. The only issue is that it's launching next year.

Soundfall will release on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019. Attendees of PAX West, EGX, and PAX Australia this year will be able to play a demo of the game.
