An Unlikely Fighter Joins Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Piranha Plant

During the Nintendo Direct livestream dedicated for Super Smash Bros. a lot of new characters were introduced, some of which have remained hidden for future DLC content. However, Sakura decided to reveal 1 special character that will be free to everyone who registers their copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate or purchases the game on the Nintendo eShop, Piranha Plant.

It seems like an unlikely fighter, especially since its a plant in a pot but somehow the developers made it work. Using its large jaws and extensive stem Piranha can chomp its opponents with ease. It can also use a spike ball, spit poison, transform into Petey Piranha as its final smash.

Piranha Planet, like the Goombas, is one of the most iconic characters in the Mario franchise, appearing back in the first-ever game. 

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches this December 7th for Nintendo Switch. Also confirmed was Ken from Street Fighter and Incineroar from Pokemon.
