Octopath Traveler Getting a Mobile Prequel and New Console Title in Development

Octopath Traveler was one of the best RPGs from Square Enix and this generation. Square Enix has seen the game's incredible success and decided to invest into 2 more projects, one a free-to-play and one a console game.

Octopath Traveler Tairiku no Hasha has been confirmed as a free-to-play game with microtransaction but no word on a western release. It's currently coming to JP with a registration for a preliminary test happening this March 12th.

This mobile title will feature the same 2D-HD visuals and will be set before the events of the original game.

Square Enix hasn't explained what the new console game is but we'll likely hear more in the future.

Octopath Traveler is now available for Nintendo Switch.
