Rage 2 is Bethesda's next big published title, and after Fallout 76 the company needs a hit. When speaking to Hardcore Gamer the studio director of id Software, Tim Willits, went to explain several things about the game. This included running at 1080p and 60 fps on Xbox One and PS4 Pro, a Nintendo Switch release, and DLC.
In terms of performance, the game will run at 1080p and 60 fps on enhanced consoles while PC will remain uncapped.
To make it simple, on the enhanced consoles, it runs at 1080p/60fps. On base hardware, it runs at 30fps. On PC, it’s uncapped. We went for speed over 4K for the enhanced consoles.
Willits explained a Nintendo Switch version is not out of the question but the game is huge and getting it to fit would be a challenged. Willits also explained that both paid and free content is planned.
Rage 2 is currently set to release in just a couple of months on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 14.
