Hiroshi Yoshimura, director of Code Vein, and Shiina explained the process of developing the musical score. With Yoshimura explaining he didn't want to tell Shiina what music to make and Shiina finding creating the score to complement the world "hard". With this freedom, Shiina was ecstatic to create this first prototype types and how it eventually developed into the theme song. With it being much different from his musical score for God Eater.
