In private, people are arguing about a game that has no valid justification to be there. In the center of all those controversies is ANANTA, and speculation about it has reached epidemic proportions. It borrows heavily from popular games in style.

People are starting to wonder when the physics and animations will be legally challenged because they are utilized so freely. Similarities to Marvel's Spider-Man in the swinging scenes, Uncharted in the chase scenes, and Sleeping Dogs and Mad Max in the battle mechanics are noticeable. The concepts are not good. Redundancy is the definition of the word.

The fact that this game isn't a solo experiment lends credence to the argument. It's under development for PC, mobile, and PlayStation, and it's being developed by NetEase, one of the largest gaming businesses in the world. The visual character is eye-catching thanks to its day-night cycle and vibrant cel-shading, but its substance belies its appearance.

Since Sony has previously pursued legal action against games that resemble Horizon, critics argue that the company might easily view this as an even more egregious instance of artistic theft. I don't think the question is about similarities per se. Why individuals are tolerating it is the mystery.

The game's apparent attractiveness persists after game-play reveal of ANANTA, nonetheless, in spite of these concerns. The ability to trade characters brings to mind Grand Theft Auto-level open-world mayhem. Unlike Batman: Arkham, where the combat is all about flips and rolls, this one feels more deliberate and weighty, like the blows in Mad Max.

The cars roar, and side missions appear all over the place when you're in the middle of an automobile chase. It seems like a hodgepodge of old ideas went into making each frame. It appears as though twenty separate games were combined into one. Despite the fact that the interaction is a disaster, it manages to pull it off.

The degree to which they are similar becomes more apparent. Some players have noticed certain motions that resemble Spider-Man's perching position, down to the character's transitions between walls and the ground.

Vehicles dangling over cliffs resemble Uncharted-style sequences in the trailers. The use of prototype-like shape-shifting tentacles and appendages further heightens the sense of deja vu. Someone once stated that flattery takes the guise of imitation. Like an unapproved open love letter, this game is full of surprises. People still can't help but tune in; the show is just too good to pass up.

Unfortunately, the promise is dimmed by a catch. In modern video games, the term "free-to-play" has taken on a significantly different connotation. Figures will not be hidden behind paywalls or gacha systems, according to the game's developers. However, information regarding the housing, appearance, and other components is still vague.

Field veterans have the necessary expertise. A free-to-play game will almost always have a paywall that prevents you from progressing until you're ready to shell out some cash. Hope has been replaced with mistrust as a result of this tactic.

Poor translations of chats have added to the confusion, and NetEase has only offered partial clarity. It has been suggested that the firm has explicitly said that there would be no gacha systems. Others maintain that nothing is secure beyond lines and that all else is only a means to an end (i.e., money). Until the disclosure, the truth will remain veiled. Without daring methods of generating revenue, a game of this magnitude would surely perish. We only know the potential danger level and the exact location of the pressure point at this time.

More suspicion is aroused by the lengthened timetable. Under a different name, the game was initially unveiled almost two years ago. Everything has been rather silent since then, but now trailers have returned without a confirmed release date.

Rumor has it that after the game is out, developers will add more places, possibly even procedural zones. Unfinished designs could also be concealed in this way. Despite the existence of some incredible gameplay footage, nobody has managed to see an entire mission uninterrupted by cutscenes. Without that, it comes out as more of a showcase than a commitment.

And that is the source of concern. This game, with its current mix of free-to-play insecurity and borrowed ingenuity, shouldn't exist. That is just breathtaking. It's thrilling. But exploitation is always a shadow, waiting to cast a shadow as soon as users encounter a paywall and sap their goodwill. Being able to break the loop and provide individuals with a genuine, equitable experience would make it one of the rare exceptions. However, its own desire will cause it to fail if it follows the extremely well-trodden road of the 98%.
