If you keep up with Battlefield 6, you know that Season 2 is coming soon. You must know about the Contaminated map, and moreover, the AH-6 Little Bird vehicle is coming back. Now, the developers have given us more information about what to expect. Recent updates to the game files have also given us more information about new weapons, gadgets, and changes to the way the game is played.

Trusted sources have shared the most recent leaks, which show that lab builds of the game already have several new weapons. You can see and test them at firing ranges or during weapon inspections, but not in the main game yet.

Confirmed new weapons include the VCR2 assault rifle, the M121 A2 LMG, and the GRT CPS DMR. These are all ranged weapons, so you can use them in different types of fights. A machete is also going to be added to the melee side.

In addition to weapons, the leaks include gadgets such as the IGLA air defense launcher and a hardware suppression system.

The hardware suppression system is supposed to stop enemy equipment from working, and the air defense launcher looks like it's meant to protect against aerial threats. Temporal, another source that has shared reliable Battlefield 6 leaks, also gave some background on when weapons will be released.

The MG5, VHSD2, and MSBS are likely in Season 2's first drop. Some, like the Scorpion Evo 3, might come later in the season through a bonus path, just like the DB12 did in Season 1. The Evo 3 isn't as advanced as other early-season weapons like the MG5 or Gro 762 right now, but it should be fully playable when it comes out.

Gadgets in Season 2 are going to give players more ways to counter and plan. A new drone gun that has been referenced in the game files for some time is also amidst these leaks. Modeled on the Drone Shield Drone Gun MK4, it provides three charges that have a cooldown of 15 seconds. Each charge can destroy a device or intercept a missile, giving you the ability to counter air attacks and vehicles.

This gadget is only available to players in the Recon class, so you will need to play Recon to get it. The impact grenade, airburst launcher, and sticky launcher are all tied to Season 3, so you won't be able to use them right away. You should look for them in future updates of Battlefield 6

You may have seen references to a second map called Subsurface. While details are limited, assets such as sewers and concrete walls have been identified.

Subsurface could either be a fully playable map or an extension of Contaminated, especially in Operations mode. Contaminated has already been linked to Operations, along with maps like Miramar Valley and Liberation Peak.

When it arrives in Season 2, Contaminated may include additional areas, possibly integrating Subsurface sections underground or along the sides of mountains. We've also got information on how Operations will differ from Breakthrough.

While Operations was previously considered a renaming of Breakthrough in Battlefield 2042, it now appears to connect two maps into a single mode. Battalions will return, and you will have a wave count that tracks progress across connected maps.

Based on the leaks, you can expect some weapons to be available immediately when Season 2 launches, potentially through the battle pass.

With these updates, you should start preparing for Season 2 of Battlefield 6 by understanding the new weapons, gadgets, and map layouts. As more information emerges from developers and leaks, you will be able to plan your gameplay strategies for new maps, weapons, and equipment. Season 2 is set to introduce changes that affect how you approach the "battlefield".
