Bluepoint's Next Project Sparks Bloodborne Speculation

Could Sony's Beloved Remake Studio Be Working on a Full Bloodborne Overhaul? Fans hope so.

There will always be that one person who laughs at the whole "Shadow of the Erdtree is Peak" thing and says something like, "They don't know about Bloodborne." Why don't they know about it? Because it came out almost ten years ago and is still stuck on a godforsaken last-gen system! But I'm that guy.

That's all I have to say about Bloodborne. Bloodborne is at its best. The fact that it was done by FromSoftware and the extent to which it changed the way Souls games are played is amazing. And now we are finally hearing rumors of a Bloodborne remake.

Bluepoint Games, Sony's in-house studio, has long been known as one of the best remake studios in the business. The company is known for reviving old games like Shadow of the Colossus and Demon's Souls. They have always made visually stunning games that stay true to the originals while pushing the limits of modern hardware.

Bluepoint's next step could be a melee action masterpiece.

Bluepoint's latest projects, on the other hand, have been less straightforward. After Demon's Souls came out on PlayStation 5, the company turned its attention to a live-service God of War project, which was eventually shelved. From the start, the big idea seemed unlikely to work. Now that the project has been shelved, a lot of time and money have been wasted, and fans are asking what the studio will do next.

A new job posting hints at the studio's next project by requiring applicants to have "a solid understanding of combat systems and mechanics for third-person melee action experiences." This quickly sparked rumors in the gaming community because it sounds like the kind of deep, strategic gameplay you can find in FromSoftware games.

Bluepoint's work on Demon's Souls showed that they could accurately reimagine complicated combat systems while improving the game's look and feel. Naturally, this has raised hopes that the company might work on Bloodborne, another famous Sony-FromSoftware project. It's been years since fans asked for an updated 60fps update, but a full remake along the lines of Demon's Souls could give them much more.

Fans would go crazy for a full Bloodborne remake.

Even with speculation, it's important to keep your goals in check. The job posting doesn't say much about the company's direction. Fans would love to see a remake of Bloodborne, but neither Bluepoint nor Sony has confirmed that this is the next project. Still, the possibilities are exciting: a careful, high-fidelity remake could bring the gothic horror classic to a whole new generation of gamers and bring it back to life.

Fans are looking forward to hearing more true news, and Bluepoint's history of crafting great remakes keeps their expectations high. The next project from the studio will definitely have the PlayStation community interested, whether it goes back to its origins with Bloodborne or attempts something altogether different.
